Phil

Phil (Twitter handle = @ps1207)

An undergrad history ed major, Phil has a passion for a plethora of historical topics.  He enjoys medieval Europe, but also loves the Reagan era of American history.  He prefers to read about the political transitions and the reformations.  He also has a heart for demonstrating the deeply analytical aspect of history.  Phil’s favorite historical figure to read about is
santaphilRonald Reagan, but he also likes just reading about James K. Polk, Henry Clay, Joan of Arc, and King Henry VIII.

Phil hopes to be able to take his knowledge into the classroom after graduation, by becoming a high school history teacher.

He wants to emphasize the message that history is not mere rote memorization of facts.  Rather it is looking at the facts and developing meaning through engaging with the past.

His desire is that people visit Reckless Historians and see that the past speaks its message, and that as a historian, Phil is just trying to make sense of it.
