Rachel is an undergrad history major with a minor in music. Among her many interests are music history, modern European history, and public history. Her favorite time periods in history and historical events include the French Revolution, the American Gilded Age, and American Progressivism. She loves studying the impact of history over literature, and reading is one of her favorite activities. Rachel’s favorite historical figures and composers include Theodore Roosevelt, Ludwig van Beethoven, Joan of Arc, and Gustav Mahler.

Rachel also plays the French horn. Currently, she is playing some of the works of Franz Strauss, the principle horn for Wagner. She loves playing the horn and plans to continue doing so for the rest of her life.

Rachel hopes to continue studying history for the foreseeable future (or until she figures out what she wants to do with her life). Two of her many career goals include becoming an oral historian and writing books on history.

In her rare free time, Rachel enjoys listening to the literary talents of Aaron Sorkin and Joss Whedon.
